The Amazing Race - Mt. Grampians Part 2

Took a few days off writing the second part of the adventure because I am EXHAUSTED! My week off doesnt seem to be a week off at all with work on thursday-sunday. boo work.. but yay money.

Ok, so on to the 2nd part. After canoeing, we had to rush straight up to the other place which was the McKenzie Falls, one of the highlights of Mt. Grampians according to our tour guide Terence. The journey to McKenzie Falls lead us to paths of never-ending confusion as the tour guide himself didnt know where he was going and expected the one that just been there (me) to know how to get to McKenzie falls the first time there -_-. FORTUNATELY, there was a really helpful couple up at the parking area that told us that McKenzie falls was probably a little bit higher up along the route and to just continue up there.

Being the people that we are, we just got side-tracked and decided instead to go to Ree's lookout to look at the sunset before heading down to the falls. It was lucky that we went to the lookout because the view there was superb!!! We were not cheated by the tour guide this time round::

best view :D

Even after the agreed upon cam-whoring session and then going back, we then made our way up to the McKenzie falls regardless due to our cheapness (never ask asians to go to a place then not make it all the way!!). We raced all the way up from Ree's Lookout to the falls swirving and twisting our way up the windy trails of the mountain like they did in Initial D (haha...) and finally arrived at the top. Once parked, we proceeded to race to the next checkpoint (ie. the waterfall base). Being no.1 so far, me and Beatrice raced down the mountain trail and guesss... what... we were first at the place again... too pro I tell you. The process of walking down the trail can be mapped by my professional photo blur taking skills:

Feel the pressure!!
and, more pressure

nearly there :D

I have some other funny pics but that shall be kept secret.. especially jing and sharmila.. haha..
Once arrival at the place, we had a 10minute picnic, cam-whoring session and bonding... then we proceeded to make our way up to the car because it was pitch black and the girls were getting scared for some reason... (not to mention, there was a stalker there the other night. Postulated to wanting to drown there but seeing our happy faces, decided that life is worth carrying on with haha). The pictures shall explain the rest:

Terence's sexy pose

Doug's winner pose.

That finally concludes the trip to Mt.Grampians. Overall, doug and beatrice wins at all the pitstops.... also concluding that Terence needs to put in more effort for his mei mei sharmila before they challenge the power of mine! :D

All in all, thumbs up to everyone for keeping up a good attitude the whole day. It was tiring, fun, enjoyable and lovely.

The Amazing Race - Mt. Grampians

The week proved to be interesting as Me and Terence the two drivers of the day make our way over to the Grampians. It was a gruelling task waking up at 5am in the morning to prepare our sandwiches, snacks and drinks but that was essential for the awesome trip up mount awesome!

Waking up at 5am in the morning was hard but starting our journey driving from 7am was hard as well!! Terence as usual, proved to be the faster of the both of us by speeding up and slowing down at the weirdest of places... (Note: Never drive behind him next time).

Now, before arriving at our destination, I was greeted by the cutest and tiniest things... SHEEP! Knowing how I loved sheep, Beatrice still didnt take a lot of photos of them for me.... I told her to pick up her camera and take photos but she just didnt care till I bothered her enough to make her do so.. and this was what I get..

(arent they cute!!!! Little balls of fur)

After hours of driving (around 3), we finally arrived at Halls Gap which was the base of the mountain (as usual, she didnt bother taking any photos). We all had lunch there in a little family owned 'coffee-shop' and mmm.. had some lovely ice-cream afterwards.

Mount Grampians being the giant that it is, proved to be too much for us to cover in a day. So what we did was only go to four places just so that we get the gist of the place.
The first place we covered was the Boroka Lookout where we could look down at the mountains. It was a really really really really really windy road up the hill as you would expect similar to going up Genting Highlands :S. It made us all really dizzy but upon arrival at the lookout, we were greeted by a spectacular view well worth the 20minute drive up the windy mountain road. It was AMAZING and I the pictures speak for themselves:

After spending about 20 minutes cam-whoring and admiring the view, we made our way back down to the base of the mountain for our second activity. CANOEING!! At first we were all very hesitant to go due to the $60 bill imposed on us but we actually found it really fun and challenging rowing through the little lake. We were brought around by our instructor Mr.T along with another family of 5 that day. We were all rowing oh so peacefully when Terence had this stupid idea for us to all go on this amazing race and thats exactly what we did!!! The loser had to treat the winner to a round of dinner but that never came to be =( because Terence refused to pay up. The race proved to us that I am still the awesomest person around. It was a fun two hour rowing but by the time it all ended, everyone was complaining of the soreness around their body and how tiring it was :D

The 4 teams

Half paying attention to Mr.T

We were lucky to make it there.. instructor said it was his first time there due to the rain :D

The winners in 1st Place!!

Terence the bragger in 2nd place :P

Jing and Anthony in 3rd

Last place =( But rubin got bit by a spider

The happy group!

This is it for part 1.... Watch out for part 2 for the next installment of the Amazing Race Grampians
