Facebook at all time low

Douglas,MELBOURNE - According to the latest survey from Facebook Stalking Association (FSA), it has been found that users from the Victorian College of Pharmacy (VCP) is at an all time low. Many users have reasoned stating that the drought in users could be due to a number of factors including the need to pass exams and starting the full-time trainee job that has hit as a necessity for the poor students that have finished their 4th year exams. However, IT has been seen on the user charts a spike of photo uploads the 2nd day after exams as students happily celebrate their end-of-uni-life. Whilst some agree with the low being attributed to the above reasons, Facebook power-user Douglas has shown that even during the exam times, there are students which are on facebook 24 hours a day playing around with Restaurant City, Country Story, Friends For Sale and other said applications which provide as a motivation to not study for their exams which starts off as a worry. Education minister Mr. Khoo had this to say, "It is not the number of hours on facebook that worries me. It is the fact that there are people like the power-user that encourage people to post replies on facebook while there are exams that need to be done". FSA did not have much to contribute to the argument but states that the minister is wrong to assume that power-users are wrong in using facebook as a medium to slack off. Conclusively, although there are many opposing views on the use of facebook and the lack thereof of users, it is important to note that facebook rules! (sometimes)

The Amazing Race - Mt. Grampians Part 2

Took a few days off writing the second part of the adventure because I am EXHAUSTED! My week off doesnt seem to be a week off at all with work on thursday-sunday. boo work.. but yay money.

Ok, so on to the 2nd part. After canoeing, we had to rush straight up to the other place which was the McKenzie Falls, one of the highlights of Mt. Grampians according to our tour guide Terence. The journey to McKenzie Falls lead us to paths of never-ending confusion as the tour guide himself didnt know where he was going and expected the one that just been there (me) to know how to get to McKenzie falls the first time there -_-. FORTUNATELY, there was a really helpful couple up at the parking area that told us that McKenzie falls was probably a little bit higher up along the route and to just continue up there.

Being the people that we are, we just got side-tracked and decided instead to go to Ree's lookout to look at the sunset before heading down to the falls. It was lucky that we went to the lookout because the view there was superb!!! We were not cheated by the tour guide this time round::

best view :D

Even after the agreed upon cam-whoring session and then going back, we then made our way up to the McKenzie falls regardless due to our cheapness (never ask asians to go to a place then not make it all the way!!). We raced all the way up from Ree's Lookout to the falls swirving and twisting our way up the windy trails of the mountain like they did in Initial D (haha...) and finally arrived at the top. Once parked, we proceeded to race to the next checkpoint (ie. the waterfall base). Being no.1 so far, me and Beatrice raced down the mountain trail and guesss... what... we were first at the place again... too pro I tell you. The process of walking down the trail can be mapped by my professional photo blur taking skills:

Feel the pressure!!
and, more pressure

nearly there :D

I have some other funny pics but that shall be kept secret.. especially jing and sharmila.. haha..
Once arrival at the place, we had a 10minute picnic, cam-whoring session and bonding... then we proceeded to make our way up to the car because it was pitch black and the girls were getting scared for some reason... (not to mention, there was a stalker there the other night. Postulated to wanting to drown there but seeing our happy faces, decided that life is worth carrying on with haha). The pictures shall explain the rest:

That finally concludes the trip to Mt.Grampians. Overall, doug and beatrice wins at all the pitstops.... also concluding that Terence needs to put in more effort for his mei mei sharmila before they challenge the power of mine! :D

All in all, thumbs up to everyone for keeping up a good attitude the whole day. It was tiring, fun, enjoyable and lovely.

The Amazing Race - Mt. Grampians

The week proved to be interesting as Me and Terence the two drivers of the day make our way over to the Grampians. It was a gruelling task waking up at 5am in the morning to prepare our sandwiches, snacks and drinks but that was essential for the awesome trip up mount awesome!

Waking up at 5am in the morning was hard but starting our journey driving from 7am was hard as well!! Terence as usual, proved to be the faster of the both of us by speeding up and slowing down at the weirdest of places... (Note: Never drive behind him next time).

Now, before arriving at our destination, I was greeted by the cutest and tiniest things... SHEEP! Knowing how I loved sheep, Beatrice still didnt take a lot of photos of them for me.... I told her to pick up her camera and take photos but she just didnt care till I bothered her enough to make her do so.. and this was what I get..

(arent they cute!!!! Little balls of fur)

After hours of driving (around 3), we finally arrived at Halls Gap which was the base of the mountain (as usual, she didnt bother taking any photos). We all had lunch there in a little family owned 'coffee-shop' and mmm.. had some lovely ice-cream afterwards.

Mount Grampians being the giant that it is, proved to be too much for us to cover in a day. So what we did was only go to four places just so that we get the gist of the place.
The first place we covered was the Boroka Lookout where we could look down at the mountains. It was a really really really really really windy road up the hill as you would expect similar to going up Genting Highlands :S. It made us all really dizzy but upon arrival at the lookout, we were greeted by a spectacular view well worth the 20minute drive up the windy mountain road. It was AMAZING and I the pictures speak for themselves:

After spending about 20 minutes cam-whoring and admiring the view, we made our way back down to the base of the mountain for our second activity. CANOEING!! At first we were all very hesitant to go due to the $60 bill imposed on us but we actually found it really fun and challenging rowing through the little lake. We were brought around by our instructor Mr.T along with another family of 5 that day. We were all rowing oh so peacefully when Terence had this stupid idea for us to all go on this amazing race and thats exactly what we did!!! The loser had to treat the winner to a round of dinner but that never came to be =( because Terence refused to pay up. The race proved to us that I am still the awesomest person around. It was a fun two hour rowing but by the time it all ended, everyone was complaining of the soreness around their body and how tiring it was :D

The 4 teams

Half paying attention to Mr.T

Team Photo

We were lucky to make it there.. instructor said it was his first time there due to the rain :D

The winners in 1st Place!!

Terence the bragger in 2nd place :P

Jing and Anthony in 3rd

Last place =( But rubin got bit by a spider

The happy group!

This is it for part 1.... Watch out for part 2 for the next installment of the Amazing Race Grampians

Lily Allen quits music?

GOOD FOR HER!!! She should just quit music if she feels that downloading is actually reducing the number of cd's that is sold. Even though downloading can be a problem in terms of reducing the number of physical sales, why cant they just use that to their advantage and advertise it over the web? Why cant they just offer another means by which they can earn money?

Some artists are just using the easy way out and blaming illegal downloading for their dwindling cd sales. What about itunes? Why is it that artists using this medium prosper whilst the others just continuously complain? This is the age of technology. Either embrace it, or just shut up. I personally buy original cd's after downloading a few of their songs to find out if the cd is worth buying. 10% of the world's population engage in illegal downloading. But of that 10%, there are at least 5% or more that actually buy the originals after listening to the downloaded ones.

If you want to succeed, dont punish the ones that help to promote your music for free. MAKE BETTER MUSIC.

Also, singers are really just too greedy. They can afford all these expensive items, luxury cars and expensive champagne. What have they got to complain about if their sales reduce. Its just a matter of supply and demand. If you can reduce the price of music, there will definitely be an increase in sales. I know I will buy more shitty music if they actually reduce their prices. Not many people earn $50k a year to enable them to buy every single piece of music without first being able to listen to it and assess whether it is worth buying. This way, they will not only curb illegal downloading, but also promote good morals (i think).

In conclusion, people like Lily Allen should just shut up, think about what they are actually saying. If they want profit, learn from what other people have to say and not just be an asshole and think you are the more unfortunate one. I know of many people less fortunate than you!

Girls and money

Its an old saying that 'where money is, thats where women will be' which I find to be incredibly true. Sure, many will think that this is bullshit and most are in relationships because they are in love with each other. Sure, at first I will admit this is true. But then as you get together for a much longer period, they just start taking you for granted and expect that everything they ask from you should be given to them. If not, you will be at the receiving end and they just wont care about you or what you want to do. This recently just happenned to someone I know.

Scenario (un-named):
"Mrs X and Mr Y"
X: I want to have an iphone
Y: Do you have the money to buy one?
X: You are going to get one for me
Y: Why?
X: Otherwise you get your own.

Now, based on this scenario, I can only think of one possible explanation. And that is the girl wants to get one simply for the fun of it without even considering the guy's opinion on the matter. Justify it however you want, but I think this is just a matter of the girls not respecting the guy and just wanting things to go her way.

I wonder why they feel the need to possess material things these days. Does life end just because they do not obtain such goods? I just dont understand! I know girls will be offended when looking at this BUT before you do... Consider this: Will you marry a guy knowing he has no future?

That being said, I trust many of you will think about this before asking your boyfriend's for anything because it doesnt do anyone any good to be so greedy. Love conquers all!! Just my 2 cents worth.

Willie's 21st Birthday

So, its the 14th of september and what did my mum decide to do? Go to a med-high end japanese restaurant (anyone knowing me will know that i'm cheap). Upon arrival, we were greeted by 2 japanese waiters that led us to our tables.

The environment was excellent but too bad we got to sit on chairs instead of sitting down on the ground with cushions (not sure what they are called now).

And now, the shocking bit. The price tag that comes with the food that we ordered:
Unagi Canape ($12 each)

Salmon Sashimi & Tuna Sashimi($19.80) & Spider Crab Legs ($25)

Mmmm..Lobster ($39.50) & Wagyu Beef ($35)

Alrighty then, once the pictures of the food are out of the way, on to the review. I cant really express in words taste of foods but being the Asian that I am, I cant really justify paying $263.80 for a meal that I am not even full after. The dish recommended by the waiter (ie. spider crab legs) is a really worthwhile try. You would think that its like normal crab meat but do not be fooled!!! The legs surprisingly are filled with lots of meat and they are yummy~ albeit tasteless due to the amount of batter used. But good nevertheless.

Also, if you are a big fan of alcohol/sake, this is a must try restaurant... I was looking through the sake list and I was astounded at the amount of sake they hold and yet at the same time, felt that I cant afford most of these sake.. with the most expensive being $880 per bottle =( o well~ tried the $40 per shot and it was excellent... not sure what its called now but it ends with a name called 'shizuku'.

Its not something we would do very often but if you have the money, blow your hearts out to this magnificent little restaurant.

And to end the post, a picture of a little cake that tastes like nutella... mmm~

Happy 21st Birthday to Willie, yesterday.

PS: the restaurant's name is Shoya Restaurant Melbourne (http://www.shoyamelbourne.com.au/index.php)

It begins...

Hello world...

This is the first time I am starting to blog and to let my opinions be heard.. I will not guarantee any entertainment from this blog and no... you do not get any satisfaction-back guarantee! :D

Hmm.. not really sure what I want to write on either. -___- I find that this is going to be a very very boring one. Anyways, I will add some random stuff from time to time just to bitch about life and to tell everyone of nice places worth going to feed and korean music which is what I am just really into these days. =)

Doug out!
